Cannot generate report. Editor
window flashes then goes away or shows "Bad File Name"
CAUSE:
Illegal characters exist in the
first four letters of the feature title used in creating a filename.
A report filename is automatically created in the format: nnnnMMDD.
Translation, first four characters of the title, month, then day the
week started. For example: Star Wars for November 7 start date would
be STAR1107.TXT.
SOLUTIONS:
Always
use letters or numbers in the feature title and avoid other
characters such as * or " which are be illegal in creating the
8.3 DOS filename. To change the title of the feature to eliminate
illegal characters, go to the Features menu then Configure Features,
and select the affected feature. Then use the (E)dit option and
select "Edit Feature Title." Re-enter the title without the
illegal characters or blank spaces. For instance, never enter a title
like this: ***STAR WARS***.
Simply enter the title as STAR
WARS.
